Full Day Summer Art Camp
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

This art camp is designed for the child/teen that just can't get enough art in their lives! Students will find themselves immersed in the creative process. Each day will bring new insight into what makes them tick.
A variety of exercises and artistic projects will enhance the student's drawing and painting skills.

9:00 to 9:45 Morning Stretch and Journaling

The morning will begin with gentle stretching to bring awareness to oneself. Centering the body and mind with breathing and gentle stretching is a wonderful way to start a creative day. Journaling is a great way to achieve focus and clarity. An artist can journal using words or pictures. The students will be asked “What are you experiencing around you?” “What do you hear, feel, see?” “How do you feel this morning?” The students will then either draw or write about what they are feeling. This part of the day will be spent outside when weather is permitting
10:00 to 12:00 Drawing and Pastel Class
In the morning drawing and pastel class students will work on a variety of projects gathering inspiration from still lifes, photos and their own imagination. Learning how to draw is one of the most requested artistic skills that I teach, and knowing how to draw aids in virtually every other artistic endeavor. Therefore, I offer this class every day. In this class, all my students work on individual projects and move along at a pace that is comfortable for them. They are given the opportunity to choose subjects that are of interest to them and I am there to provide guidance through their artistic journey.

12:00 to 1:00 Lunch
Each day students should pack a lunch. When weather permits the class will walk to a variety of locations in Doylestown. Students will bring their sketchbooks and will have the opportunity to Journal/sketch during lunch if they choose.
1:00 to 3:00 Acrylic Class
During the acrylic painting class students will have the opportunity to experience step by step painting projects along with beautiful free flowing acrylic pouring.
Flow acrylic painting is an invitation to let go of your expectations, enjoy the entire process, and allow yourself to be surprised by what happens on your canvas.
The meditative effect of watching the paint flow, the surrender in the process, and the surprise of the -sometimes unexpected- result is what keeps it all interesting. Everyday is a good day when you paint, and trust the flow!
Painting activities will vary from day to day.
3:00 o'clock pick up.
